Scientifically designed wine vats improve convection and taste of Champagne.

New wine vat shapes

These pictures show the first ever wooden vats using the divine proportion of the golden number, (Phi: 1.618…).

Designed by Benoit Marguet himself he put the challenge in the hands of one of the best barrel maker of France – Taransaud. They succeed in creating his vision and he received them last week.

The golden number can be found everywhere in the nature. Its use have started as early as with the Egyptians in the design of the pyramids, then the Greeks, the cathedral builders and Renaissance artists. It also appears for example in the physical proportions of the human body, movements in the stock market and many other aspects of life and the universe…

Physically, the egg shape which inludes the golden number, offers the wine some different movements of convection compare to regular cubic or circle tanks. Benoit Marguet has been working on that for years, and came to understand it was influencing the wine taste. It brings much more to the wine in terms of energetic fields.

Their cellars are small, but the dedication to create very fine Champagne is huge.
