Two wines from Ferngrove have received good results in a tasting by Decanter Magazine :
Ferngrove Frankland River Chardonnay
Frankland River is one of the coolest regions in WA, hence the harvest occurs later than in the other regions in the state. There’s an intensity of fruit running throughout this wine – apricot, peach and lime, augmented by a pinch of clove on the palate.
Wine of the Month – July 2010 Rating : 15/20
Ferngrove Frankland River Shiraz
One for those who generally shy away from South Australian blockbuster style of Shiraz. This is forward and expressive without being full throttle. A blend of red and dark fruits form the core, complemented by touches of dried fruit and hints of chocolate. Well balanced, it culminates in a clean, refreshing finish.
Wine of the Month – April 2010 Rating : 16/20
