The Tortoiseshell Bay winery is located in the small hamlet of Yenda in the heart of the Riverina in New South Wales. Growing 55 percent of wine grapes in New South Wales and 15 percent of the total grape production within Australia, the Riverina is a very important wine region.
The continental climate is hot and dry but with abundant winter rainfall, so grape growing is reliable, cropping moderate to high yields of excellent quality fruit. Due to these favourable conditions, minimal impact vineyard management systems are used and which lend themselves to sustainable viticulture.
Tortoiseshell Bay are delicate but fresh, full flavoured wines, and all are sealed with screw cap to reach the consumer as the winemaker intended.
