Digital Thermometers & Hygrometers
Wine Cellar Thermometers & Hygrometers
Maintaining the conditions of your wines in your cellar is essential to ensure the best drinking experience. Our range of digital wine cellar thermometers and hygrometers brings the most accurate monitoring equipment into your house. Most record maximum and minimum temperatures over a given period and many have an external sensor to monitor external conditions or even a second wine storage cellar.
For the really technical wine collectors look out for data logging cellar instruments which can be downloaded to a computer and others that will raise an alarm if conditions exceed a set limit.
Jacob Jensen - better by design
n 1958 industrial designer Jacob Jensen opened his studio. In 2008, 50 years later, the anniversary was celebrated with the opening of House of Jacob Jensen, a unique building containing a Jacob Jensen design collection as well as the new headquarters for Jacob Jensen Brand.
Chief Designer Timothy Jacob Jensen on the background for establishing House of Jacob Jensen: "As the 50th anniversary approached, my father and I sat down to discuss how to celebrate the occasion. We both wanted to make a retrospective exhibition, describing the development over five decades, but where to have it? We have had exhibitions a great many places over the years. Places like the Museum of Modern Art in New York, Neue Sammlung in Munich, Jerusalem Museum, the Danish Museum of Art and Design, Danish Design Center and the local Art Museum in Skive."
The first products in the new innovative, functional and cordless monitoring series from JACOB JENSEN are the Thermometer II Silver Version, the Hygrometer II Silver Version and the Multi Sensor. The combination of silver aluminium and black elements creates a series which appeals to the many due to the sharp and pure lines. The elements fit quietly and stylishly into any home.
The Monitoring Station II is a modular built series enabling you to build up the range according to your wishes and needs. The Multi Sensor supports both products. Furthermore, the Desktop Kits enable you to place the series on a table.
In 1965, The Danish company Bang & Olufsen approached JACOB JENSEN DESIGN, asking for something new. B&O was presented with a model similar to the one General Electric had not dared to take on a few years earlier. The co-operation with B&O began in 1965 through to 1991 and resulted in approximately 80 different products and 1500 design models. The design of these wine cellar monitoring units shows the Bang & Olufsen design concepts are still fresh and very much on-trend for todays home.
