The Tempranillo grapes used in this wine come from a single vineyard that is older than 75 years and that is cultivated in a traditional way, dry conditions and short yields. Figuero Tinus 2006, comes from a vintage with very excellent weather conditions in the single vineyard located at La Horra. Generous rain appeared at the proper time during the whole vintage, at the sprout, blooming and veraison and the high temperature during August and September made for the perfect phenolic maturity and alcoholic ripening of the grapes. After being hand-harvested and undergoing cluster selection in the vineyards, the grapes are destemmed and go through gravity to the two new oak barrels where the grapes will fermented in a handmade and traditional way. An additional 20 days of maturation follow, with malolactic fermentation taking place. The wine is aged for 22 months in two new Radoux French oak. It then spends an additional 15 months ageing in bottle before leaving the cellar.

Just the truth. Really unique and exceptional Figuero TINUS 2006. Clean, bright and intense, deep cherry and crimson red. Complex and intense nose. Elegant combination of fruit (prickly pears, raisins, prunes, dried peach) toffee notes, spice, balsamic and hints of minerals. Powerful and intense with very gentle, rounded tannins. Smooth and balanced between fruit and oak, with a very long finish.
