Kuhling Gillot - Germany

“A young vineyard with old traditions” is how Roland Gillot describes his estate. 1970 saw the marriage between Wg Gillot and Wg Kuhling combining over 200 years of wine making knowledge. This merger saw the creation of 10ha of vines under the control of cellar master Roland Gillot and now with winemaker Caroline Gillot transferring her passion for wines into the vineyard. Agreater percentage now being matured in oak barrels. Based in Bodenheim, near Mainz, the family are gaining world-wide praise with VINUM awarding them the foremost prize for German Red Wine and a la Carte called Gillot the Master of Dessert Wine in a comparative tasting of noble sweet wines.
