The colour is yellow / green-gold which appears typical for this wine, as for many top, young chardonnays. Aromas of lemon and vanilla custard are quite restrained at this stage. Taught palate shows subtle nutty, lemon butterscotch flavours with oak in balance and developing strongly to a good finish.

With this wine, the intention was to create something very much along the lines of traditional grand cru Alsace, firm and steely in youth but with the grip and structure to support extensive bottle age, thereby allowing the full potential of the wine to develop over time.
