After picking and pressing, the individual parcels were tank fermented at warm temperatures. At the end of fermentation the wines were racked off the heavy yeast lees and aged for four months prior to blending and bottling. By mid March light rainfall and diurnal weather had settled, with cooler nights and daytime temperatures in the mid-20s ideal for optimal ripening, and a sunny harvest.
This new addition to Barrels & Bottles range was enjoyed on my camping holiday in Cornwall. It drank really well with a chicken dish we had which had a spicy tomato sauce with a lemon and mushroom couscous. I felt the Riesling is well rounded and quite rich with a zinginess on the palate and tasting of rich fruits such as grapefruit which gave a rich acidity. I think this may also drink well with some soft and creamy style cheeses.
