La Conda - Chile

The Central Valley wine-growing region lies only 150 miles due west of Mendoza. In those 150 miles the Andes climb to 17.000 feet. There is a radical climate change here, with the arid zone which reaches into northern Chile and the Bolivian plateau crossing the Andes into Argentina.

The vineyards are cooled by the sea breeze to the west and the Andes to the east. With light but highly fertile soil and complete control of the water supply grape growing becomes very easy and simple allowing the wine-maker to concentrate his skills in the winery to get the maximum expression of fruit from each variety.

La Conda is great example of Chilean wine - soft on the palate and lots of rich fruity character on the nose and palate.
