Virgin Hills is the gem of the Macedon Ranges and is acclaimed as one of Australia’s iconic vineyards. Founded in 1968 by restaurateur Tom Lazar, the vineyard was hailed as visionary for its plantings of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Malbec and Merlot in this cool climate region. Virgin Hills was acquired by the Hope Family in October 2000.

The Virgin Hills Estate is at Lauriston, 15km west of Kyneton Victoria in the Macedon Ranges. The altitude of the vineyard is 600 metres above sea level, making it one of Australia's highest vineyards.

Strong cherry, cassis, some mint and leaves, balanced with bottled aged savoury and roast coffee flavours finishing with fine chalky tannins.
