Don Ramos Cigars : Honduras
Situated on a plateau above the river Joyoa some twenty miles up country from San Pedro Sula, the Cofradía factory is managed day-to day by Cuban-born Estelo Padron. Virtually all the cigars made here follow the classic Cuban method of manufacture totally by hand. This goes for all Don Ramos sizes as well as the other leading brands that are made here such non-Cuban Punch and Hoyo de Monterrey for the American market, and Excalibur, a brand that is well known throughout the world.
Cigar smokers to whom the name of Padron is familiar may be interested to know that Estelo is the brother of José Padron, the founder of the highly rated Padron cigar brand from Nicaragua.
The distinct light to medium taste of Don Ramos owes its origin to a blend of fillers grown both in Honduras and the Dominican Republic using a predominance of Piloto Cubano or Cuban seed types. The binder is Connecticut Broadleaf and the wrapper is Connecticut seed grown in Ecuador.
