Colour : intense ruby colour

Nose : very ripe small red fruit and hints of leather

Palate : jammy red fruit, ful-bodied delicate tannins with a slight woddy vanilla flavour. Long lasting wine.

Grapes : Syrah from 20 year old vines

Soil : plot halfway up the hill, clay and limestone at the bottom, gravel at the top. South facing in the district of Mercurol.

Vinification : grapes are destemmed. Maceration in concrete vats, used to slow the change in temperature for about 4 weeks. Extraction made by pumping over and punching down.

Maturing : In oak barrels for 14 to 16 months with 20 to 30 percent in new oak.
