Champagne Louis Roederer

Champagne Louis Roederer

Champagne Louis Roederer

Louis Roederer is one of the few independent family owned Houses established back in 1776. Roederer own 190 hectares which provides up to two thirds of their grape requirements. This is the largest proportion of any Champagne House and gives them strict control over their raw materials. Each year a proportion of their finest wines are added to their unique ‘Reserve Wine Cellar’. Kept in large oak casks in an air conditioned cellar until they are required for addition to the blend that is Brut Premier.

Brut Premier Reviews

"The Louis Roederer Champagne house seems to be on a roll. Every one of their offerings is fantastic this year: ...the nonvintage Brut Premier." Gourmet - James Rodewald - December 2008

"A clean and supple blend of red fruit with paler tones of pear and cherimoya, this has a soft middle balanaced by the tension of its acidity. It continues to open with air, round, gentle and energized. An elegant aperitif. 90 points" Wine & Spirits - Joshua Greene - December 2008

Tasting Notes

Brut Premier is a pale golden color with delicate, persistent beading. Its rich yet subtle bouquet has hints of hawthorn, almonds and toast. It has a clean attack and creamy structure. The inclusion of reserve wines gives the complexity and roundness characteristic of Louis Roederer Champagnes. This champagne strikes a perfect balance between the vinosity and fruitiness of the Pinot Noir and the finesse of the Chardonnay.

Champagne Louis Roederer Carte Blanch

Champagne Louis Roederer Carte Blanch

Ref: 74610

Price: £36.94  inc VAT

Quantity:

Champagne Louis Roederer Rich is blended from the harvests of 4 different years (including 3 different years from the reserve wine cellar) and is created using 66per-cent black grapes (mostly Pinot Noir) and 34 per-cent white grapes (Chardonnay). The reserve champagne matures in oak for a minimum of 5 years and is then aged for 3 and a half years.

Pale golden colour is a true delight in the glass and the complexity of the blend is not masked by the dosage. Roederer Rich is a good accompaniment to fruit tarts (apple, pear or red fruits) and other desserts which are not too sweet

Champagne Louis Roederer Blanc de Blanc 2002

Champagne Louis Roederer Blanc de Blanc 2002

Ref: 74660

Price: £69.05  inc VAT

Quantity:

The Blanc de Blancs vintage is only produced in small quantities because it is created exclusively from a selection of the very finest crus from the Louis Roederer vineyard in the Cote des Blancs. To preserve its delicacy and freshness, this exquisite champagne undergoes no malolactic fermentation and the pressure inside the bottle is reduced to four atmospheres, instead of the usual six

Golden yellow colour with bright green highlights. Intensely fruity nose with lush aromas of ripe fruits (melon, mango) and crisper scents of apple and orange overlaid by the mineral tones typical of Chardonnay.

Full-bodied, creamy palate, with light but mouthfilling substance still dominated by those pure smoky, mineral tones of young Chardonnay. Crisp, long, sappy finish.

Louis Roederer Vintage Rose

Louis Roederer Vintage Rose

Ref: 74640

Price: £53.70  inc VAT

Quantity:

The Louis Roederer Vintage Rosé is a unique type of Champagne. In the development of its rosé champagnes, Louis Roederer still uses the skin contact method leaving the black grapes to macerate in the wine press for several hours to extract the pigmenting substances from the must. To confer colour and style, Louis Roederer uses Pinot Noirs from old Cumières vines which produce very ripe grapes of exceptional aromatic depth. The Rosé wine is then usually left to age for a period of four years, plus an additional six months after disgorgement to ensure perfect maturity.
