Sitting in the restaurant of this showpiece farm in the very upper-crust area of Constantia, whichever way you look the views are splendid - you see the beautifully restored old cellars, immaculate vineyards and awesome mountains. This is South Africas finest restaurant. At your elbow, the wine list features house vintages of the highest standard.
This model winery in the suburb of Cape Town is one of the Top Estates planted originally by the Dutch in the 17th Century. After dividing the Constantia Estate, the site Buitenverwachting was re-classified as a Class 1 vineyard.
Looking back to the recent past only 12 years ago Buitenverwachting hadnt bottled a single bottle of wine; now it is the standard bearer for Constantia contributing to the re-establishment of the areas legendary fine wine reputation.
Looking into the future, general manager and son of the owner Lars Maack, and winemaker Herman Kirschbaum, know exactly where they are going. In every direction, Buitenverwachting impresses.
This impressive, unoaked bold white wine is ideally suited to be served when matching Italian antipasti and fish. Fermented and matured in stainless steel tanks
Ideally drunk within 3 years of vintage, this wonderfully fresh and full white wine has a hint of gooseberry and is crisp and clean. The ideal serving temperature is between 10-12oC
