Brecon Special Reserve Gin 70cl

The award winning Brecon special reserve gin is produced in small batches at the Penderyn Distillery in the Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales.

Brecon Gin is hand crafted from the finest column still spirit and Pendryn's own copper pot spirit. The gin is infused with 10 botanicals sourced from the four corners of the earth. The clarity and purity of this gin prevails in the clear tall glass bottle which also perfectly highlights the diverse range of botanicals. The list of botanicals and the naturalness of this gin will define a new category of drinkers.

Penderyn do not add flavourings to their gin. Instead, natural botanicals are added to the still to delicately infuse their flavour. Juniper berries from Macedonia, orange peel from Spain, cassia bark fro China, liquorice root from Sri Lanka, cinnamon bark from Madagascar, angelica root from France, ground nutmeg from India, corriander seeds from Russia, lemon peel from Spain and orris root from Italy are used. A 100 year old recipe is faithfully followed to create a natural gin just as it should taste. The water for Brecon Gin is drawn directly from beneath the distillery and is filtered through 340 million year old rock formations for an incredible smooth and pure taste.

Taken neat, Brecon gin is a big traditional juniper gin laced with coriander and revealing hints of spicy cinnamon. Add a mixer and the citrus freshness of oranges and lemons appear with nutmeg, liquorice and angelica in a supporting role. The characteristic flavours go well with tonic, ice and lemon on a warm summer’s day with a refreshing juniper in the lead role but Brecon’s traditional heritage is equally at home besides a roaring fire on a cold night and will bring back memories of long hot summers past.
