A beautifully crafted Rioja by Bodegas Barriosa, Spain.

Campo Fuerte Tinto Rioja is deep, rich purple in colour with cassis hues at the rim.

The palate is powerful with a thick, meaty mid-palate showing well formed, rounded tannins.

On the nose the Rioja shows a bouquet of freshly picked summer hedgerow fruits and a delicate overtones of vanilla, boxwood and coconuts.

Campo Fuerte Rioja is great with all meats and cheeses yet is so well balanced to be enjoyed by itself for everyday drinking.

Spain, particularly Rioja, has undergone a bit of a revolution over the past few years with the harsh, tannic and slightly oxidised wines being replaced with fruit driven, rounded styles geared towards a more friendly palate experience. Campo Fuerte builds upon the tradional heritage of classic Rioja with modern wine making techniques and a desire to produce quality wine before profits.
